About the Project
1-800 Sera is a paid platonic phone-call service built around a simple idea: sometimes you just want someone to talk to.
The brand takes inspiration from mid-century advertising and vintage infomercials, using retro typography, rotary-phone imagery, grainy textures, and an intentionally kitschy visual style. The goal was to give the service a distinct personality while keeping the experience of choosing a call, booking a time, and connecting with Sera straightforward.
The project involved developing the brand identity and designing and building a responsive website that brings its personality to life, from the visual design and copy to the overall user experience.
My Role
My work on 1-800 Sera included developing the brand's visual direction, designing and building the website in Astro, and writing copy that reflects its playful, slightly irreverent personality.
I also worked on the site's structure and user experience, creating a responsive design that introduces the service, explains how it works, and guides visitors toward booking a call.
